Dr. Joseph C. Mavec was born in Eastlake, Ohio. His undergraduate degree was in Chemistry and following graduation he attended The Ohio State College of Dentistry. After earning his DDS degree, Dr. Mavec was commissioned as a US Naval Officer and completed a General Practice Residency at Portsmouth Naval Hospital Portsmouth, VA. Dr Mavec was deployed to the Persian Gulf and Haiti, and was stationed in Sicily and at the Washington Navy Yard before entering endodontic residency. Dr. Mavec received his endodontic specialty from the National Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, MD, and his Masters degree from George Washington University Washington D.C. Dr. Mavec completed his naval career and then entered private practice in 2004.
As a dedicated husband and father of four, Dr. Mavec has many interests outside of endodontics. He enjoys boating, fishing and traveling.
